The basics

Friends,
Thanks for reading my blog! My name is Daniel Goble, I'm a rising second-year Brody student, and this blog will be a chronicle of my experiences in Ecuador from July 3rd to 31st. My trip, in addition to my classmate Diana Spell's trip to Ethiopia, has been funded by the Brody Scholarship Program. I'm traveling under the auspices of Child Family Health International (CFHI), and will be spending most of my time precepting in the hospitals of Quito and Chone, a town in the jungle near the coast of Ecuador. I'll also be taking a Spanish class in Quito for the first two weeks of the program. The main purposes of my trip are to gain experience in indigent care, to hone my Spanish, and to serve the patients I see the best I can. I plan to focus my posts on what I am learning, keep each post short, and toss in photographs and other miscellanea. Again, thanks for your interest, and I hope to make each post worth your while. Sincerely, Daniel
